    Job Description:

    Reporting to the Director of Development, the Coordinator will be responsible for managing the donor database, Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge, ensuring that all donor communication is accurate and timely, as well as supporting annual campaigns and fundraising events. The successful candidate will be a flexible team-player who is comfortable working independently as well as part of a team. The coordinator will need to have a thorough understanding of fundraising best practices as well as AC4Ed’s fundraising plan and key strategies to help the organization realize and exceed fundraising goals.

    The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, communications or a related field from an accredited college or university. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, communications experience including letter and email drafting and editing, and some experience with prospecting preferred. The Development Coordinator is a detail-focused position with significant opportunities to assume responsibilities across a wide range of fundraising, donor cultivation, and stewardship activities.     Key Responsibilities:

    Fundraising and Cultivation Activities

    • Assist in implementing the Development Plan that incorporates a range of strategies including annual appeals, major donors, corporate and individual appeals, and special events
    • Assume a role in executing all fundraising events, including the Annual Luncheon and Golf Tournament
    • Manage event and campaign logistical details, serving as the point of contact for supporters and sponsors, volunteers, and attendees
    • Record and track event, campaign, and donor cultivation information; including registration, mailing lists, and campaign event results
    • Coordinate other seasonal or special events such as capitalizing on arising fundraising opportunities, driving cause marketing campaigns, and overseeing donor and volunteer appreciation/cultivation events

    Individual Giving and Donor Stewardship

    • Collaborate with the Director of Development and Leadership on updating and monitoring the annual development calendar to ensure year-round engagement and stewardship of individual donors
    • Monitor and ensure the appropriate follow up occurs with donors and supporters
    • Process donations, generate and track tax-receipts and acknowledgement letters
    • Arrange cultivation opportunities and logistics for individual solicitations

    Corporate and Foundation Relations, Including Program Support

    • Complete matching gift forms and protocols
    • Assist with program event logistics as requested, including activities such as photography, volunteer management, or communications activities

    Operations, Infrastructure, and Other Roles

    • Manages data entry and development of our donor database (Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge), provide content for email distribution and website
    • Tracks campaign and event performance to goal, providing reports regularly and on-demand
    • Attend Development Committee meetings

    Essential Qualities and Qualifications

    • Understanding of and belief in the organization’s mission, vision, and values
    • Mission and values driven with a strong commitment to social justice
    • Demonstrated experience and comfort in fundraising, soliciting for donations, and/or planning major events (Bachelor’s degree or higher and 2 years of prior experience with education and/or nonprofit development preferred)
    • Good sense of accountability, strong dependability, and impeccable integrity
    • Detail-oriented and proactive approach to managing time-sensitive and competing workloads
    • A quintessential team player with a willingness to support colleagues outside of primary responsibilities
    • Emotionally intelligent and self-aware, including the ability to both ask for/receive and offer assistance or leadership when and where needed
    • Open to and appreciative of feedback, responsive to direction and coaching
    • Capable communicator with an astute eye for written and visual communication (design or marketing experience, including ability to use design software a plus)
    • Enthusiastic self-starter operating with sustained energy and showing initiative
    • Comfort working with a diverse base of support and stakeholders, including participants, community leaders, volunteers, donors, other nonprofit organizations, agencies, and corporate partners
    • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (experience with databases, auction software, and other electronic tracking systems a plus)
    • Highly ethical, particularly in working with confidential or sensitive information, and the ability to pass a background check
    • Flexible schedule outside of typical working hours, with the ability and willingness to work occasional nights or weekends as necessary

     

    Qualifications


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field ( e.g., Business, Marketing, Finance, Communications or a related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Experience with Raiser’s Edge
    • Proven experience in development, fundraising, or a related role.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
    • Proficiency in donor management software.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
