Development Coordinator jobs in Colorado Springs, CO

The Development Coordinator is responsible for working with the Executive Director, Foundation Coordinator and Board of Directors to plan and organize fundraising events, coordinate volunteers and donors, solicit sponsorships and maintain responsibility for all grant writing activities.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum five years’ experience working in nonprofit organizations doing development work

Licenses/Certification: Valid driver’s license

Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision-making, possesses excellent interpersonal skills with potential donors and the general public, demonstrates creativity in planning and executing fundraising events, extensive experience with successful grant writing, possesses the ability to work independently

• Conducts all grant writing and reporting requirements for the GVH Foundation. Work with GVH staff on proposals related to various aspects of the health system
• Develops and maintains relationships with health-related Foundations and granting organizations in Colorado
• Research and identify potential funding sources from private, corporate and government philanthropic sectors.
• Assists in the development of fundraising goals and works to meet these goals
• Provides assistance to the Foundation Development Committee including the arranging of meetings with current and prospective donors
• Identifies and solicits new donors. Maintains relationships with key donors to ensure year-round support
• Work in conjunction with Development Committee members in the planning, organizing and carrying out of special events
• Assists with creating budgets based upon anticipated fundraising results
• Solicit business and individual sponsorships for fundraising events
• Complete direct mailings to donors including Annual Report, newsletters and solicitation letters
• Recruitment and coordination of volunteers for special events

Compensation: $26.60 - $33.70/hr, depending on experience.

Medical, dental, vision, health care FSA, and dependent care FSA: All active employees working 40 or more hours per pay period are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following date of hire. PRN staff are not initially eligible for benefits, and GVH follows all Affordable Health Care Act Eligibility guidelines.
