Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a 200 bed skilled nursing facility in Albany, New York. We are currently setting up interviews for a Registered Nurse Staff Development Coordinator. The selected candidate will be a self directing, outgoing, clinically experienced Registered Nurse with a desire to educate staff in how to provide excellent and safe resident focused care.
Position: Full Time, 40 hours, Salary, Exempt
Primary Duties (not exclusive):
1. Coordinates, plans, develops, and conducts general orientation for all new employees.
2. Provides educational experiences utilizing a number of different media and methods including computer use, video, Powerpoint, and hands on experience.
3. Tracks and ensures completion of mandatory in-services for clinical staff including CNA continuing educational requirements.
4. Assists in surveillance of infection control outbreaks, antibiotic usage, policies and procedures related to infection control and acts as the Infection Control Specialist.
5. Coordinates and tracks employee and resident immunization provision and records.
6. Participates in the Quality Assurance, Safety, Corporate Compliance, Infection Control and other committees.
7. Acts as the house RN Supervisor and assists with admission assessment and documentation and takes part in an emergency, rotational, on-call RN coverage plan.
8. The hours have some flexibility and include coming in on the off shifts periodically to provide educational experiences for shift workers.
9. RN On-Call Rotation required.
