    Position Overview

    The Development Coordinator will be critical to the Development Department’s success in meeting PolicyLink’s fundraising goals. The Coordinator will support the development team with data management, grant portal management, project management, fundraising operations, and prospect research. This position will report directly to the Director of Institutional Giving and join a Development team with a Chief Advancement Officer, a Director of Donor Engagement, and a Development Manager.

     

    This is a unique opportunity to support the development team of a well-established organization. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about equity and want to work at the nexus of the racial equity movement: long-term strategic goals and incubating grassroots movements.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Project manage the grant process, including submitting proposals and reports to donor portals.
    • Manage the Development Department’s financial and gift processing systems, including prompt data entry of projections, pledges, and gifts received, tracking donor correspondence, and generating gift acknowledgment letters.
    • Administer the Development Department’s usage of Salesforce, including record maintenance and data entry.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining Salesforce dashboards for moves management and progress-to-goal reports.
    • Maintain Salesforce data for tracking and reporting on incoming grants.
    • Maintain departmental files, documents, and procedures.
    • Assist with scheduling donor meetings.
    • Assist in the in-house logistical planning of cultivation events (including managing guest list and coordinating production of materials).
    • Draft, edit, and/or proofread a broad range of materials for current and prospective donors.
    • Manage online giving campaigns and cultivation of donors (including acknowledgments and regular correspondence).
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Skills and Experience

    • 3–5 years of experience, preferably at a nonprofit organization.
    • Prior experience in Development CRM preferred (Salesforce/ Raiser’s Edge).
    • Aptitude for conducting research, gathering data, analyzing information, and preparing reports and other materials.
    • Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.


    Compensation and Benefits

    The salary range for this position is $75,000–$90,000, dependent upon experience.
