Purpose:
To assist in the creation and training of a cohesive team that will provide quality supports and
services. To be a change agent, building a staff of person-centered professionals that can work
together to help people reach their “Power of Potential.” Mentor and support new employees as
they transition from new-hire training to their new role at AIM Services Inc. Ensure professional
training, certification and retraining is provided for all AIM Services Inc. employees. To provide
education, training, and support to all new and current AIM Services Inc. staff. Actively
participate in the oversight and coordination of mentoring programs for all new and current AIM
Services, Inc. staff. Periodic training and support to current employees, as necessary.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree preferred, High School Diploma/ GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years working in the field of Intellectual and Developmental disabilities.
• One year managerial/supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous training experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License acceptable to Agency Insurance standards preferred. Maintain
valid insurance and provide insurance card if you use your own vehicle.
• Knowledge of OPWDD Regulations.
• SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid trainer certification preferred
• Willingness to maintain a 40 hour/week flexible schedule, including multiple shifts and
days of the week to meet the mentoring needs of each new hire.

Essential Functions:
• To provide on-site education, training, support, and mentorship to all new staff. Frequent
observation/communication with each trainee throughout the 90-day orientation period.
• To consistently communicate training successes and concerns with managers and
Assistant Directors.
• Oversight, in conjunction with the Staff Development Department, of the Agency
mentoring program.
• To assist with training/orientation class as necessary and assigned. Procure certification
to train DTA, CPR and SCIP-R (PROMOTE).
• Promote individualized supports and experiences, ensuring people’s hopes, dreams, and
values are priority. Cultivate a culture in which the choices, beliefs, and values of all the
people we serve are celebrated.
• Work as a team with the common goal of putting people first, while building partnerships and exercising social capital

• Provide leadership and direct supervision for new employees during their
training/orientation period.
• Assist in designing and/or modifying a general orientation training program in

certification for all employees.
• Assist in establishing education standards, policies and procedures to assure maintenance
of credentials and staff development.
• Assist in developing and revising training courses and curriculum with updated changes
in the field, i.e., Promote, SCIP-R, Diversity and Inclusion, etc.

• Assist in the implementation of Evero and the transition out of Therap
• Any and all other duties requested by supervisor.
