Development Director manages an organization's fundraising strategies, campaigns, capital development initiatives, and operations to support the overall organizational development and revenue objectives. Implements donor stewardship programs to identify, develop, retain, and nurture a portfolio of individual and institutional donors. Being a Development Director works to develop potential corporate or governmental partnerships and grant funding opportunities. Creates collaborative coordination between staff and internal stakeholders to plan events and communications to increase donor engagement. Additionally, Development Director uses technology to manage and monitor donor information and produce data-driven measurement and reporting of the progress of fundraising goals. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Development Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Development Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Responsibilities

    In this position, you will collaborate with the GM to set annual performance goals, spearhead sales initiatives, manage cross-functional teams and external partners, foster relationships with licensor organizations, support a solutions-based approach to customer needs, and oversee sales and product development teams to achieve targets. Additionally, it entails identifying process improvement opportunities and maintaining regular communication with licensed partners.

    • Collaborate with the GM to establish annual performance goals for the team, including sales goals and long-term strategies for business growth
    • Spearhead sales initiatives across pivotal accounts and manage representatives across various channels and accounts
    • Manage cross-functional teams and external partners to include 3rd party production/distribution partners, consultants, and marketplace managers
    • Foster strong relationships with licensor organizations, including category, franchise, and retail development teams
    • Support solutions-based approach to customer issues and needs, synthesize feedback for internal teams to execute
    • Manage the sales and product development teams, including 3rd party representatives and agencies, to achieve annual sales targets and objectives
    • Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes to enhance productivity and ensure achievement of annual goals
    • Maintain regular communication with licensed partners, providing updates on channel strategies and placements, and coordinate on key brand initiatives

    Qualifications

    • 10 years of progressive experience in business development, including team leadership and sales of branded products
    • Previous experience in selling brands or branded products
    • Strong organizational skills with a solution-oriented mindset
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced retail environment
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Self-motivated with a strong drive for success
    • High attention to detail
    • Team player; skilled working within a collaborative environment
    • Experience with matrixed organizations
    • Background working with or within large retail organizations
