Development Director manages an organization's fundraising strategies, campaigns, capital development initiatives, and operations to support the overall organizational development and revenue objectives. Implements donor stewardship programs to identify, develop, retain, and nurture a portfolio of individual and institutional donors. Being a Development Director works to develop potential corporate or governmental partnerships and grant funding opportunities. Creates collaborative coordination between staff and internal stakeholders to plan events and communications to increase donor engagement. Additionally, Development Director uses technology to manage and monitor donor information and produce data-driven measurement and reporting of the progress of fundraising goals. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Development Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     The Director, Sales Development oversees producer’s activities, KPI's, and sales pipelines to ensure the sales department runs effectively and efficiently. In conjunction with the Sales Leader and Regional President, the Director, Sales Development encourages success and empowers the sales team to reach their annual new business sales goals. The position requires resourcefulness, ability to work independently, attention to detail, adaptability, organizational skills and the ability to build strong relationships. 


    A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY

    • Manages the Sales Team including hiring and training, performance reviews, setting and managing KPI’s and related goal setting of individual staff.
    • Implements strategies and plans to address staff development; provides frequent performance feedback.
    • Drives sales growth by overseeing various aspects and activities of the sales team; fosters a dynamic sales culture which enhances the ability to reach and exceed annual individual, regional and organizational goals (increasing overall sales growth and success annually).
    • Drives Cross sell and Team Sell initiatives amongst the producers. 
    • Conducts monthly pipeline reviews. 
    • Develops and executes ongoing regular communications to the sales team regarding successes, updates, strategies, and potential opportunities. 
    • Develops and executes sales contests, sales training sessions, and sales meetings. 
    • Develops and executes prospect campaigns.
    • Develops and executes innovative cost containment programs.
    • Facilitates recurring calls for new producers & acquisitions in conjunction with Sales Leader and Regional President.
    • Manages the roll out and training of Relation’s sales tracking system, ensures producers identify opportunities within their current books to round out all lines.
    • Promotes operational efficiency and quality by continuously improving processes, people and systems to enhance efficiency, consistency, and quality.
    • Establishes and cultivates strategic business relationships with sales and market influencers and potential new customers.
    • Performs other projects, duties, and tasks, as assigned.

    Requirements

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

    • Secure and maintain a Property & Casualty license in the state of domicile within 6 months of hire.
    • 10 years of experience in insurance.
    • College degree in related field preferred or comparable work experience.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; expresses thoughts and ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing; establishes trust and confidence quickly.
    • Strong organizational/time management skills, with attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
    • Excellent leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff and obtain results through teamwork. 
    • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office’s Suite of products.
    • Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation best practice, statutes and legislation.
    • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing and fast paced environment.
    • Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality.
    • Must value operating in a collaborative work environment.
