Diabetes Educator educates patients on the necessary lifestyle changes involved in a diabetes diagnosis, including nutrition, medication, physical activity and glucose testing. Collects patient data to monitor health status and proactively manage the patient's condition. Being a Diabetes Educator facilitates skill development and behavior modification so that the patient is able to successfully manage the disease. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Diabetes Educator typically required to be a Certified Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diabetes Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Role Overview: The RN Educator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the professional development and competence of nursing staff across various departments. This position involves direct floor engagement, offering real-time education and training to ensure all staff are proficient in their clinical skills and knowledgeable about the latest healthcare practices.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement educational programs and workshops for nursing staff.
    • Conduct regular competency assessments and provide one-on-one coaching.
    • Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and tailor training accordingly.
    • Facilitate new staff orientation and ongoing professional development sessions.
    • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory standards.

    Requirements:

    • Active RN license with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a hospital setting.
    • Prior experience as a specialty nurse highly desired.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead training sessions that promote quality care and compliance with clinical protocols.
