  • Marcus Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Group Rooms Coordinator to be part of our team as we expand our portfolio. Our newest addition, The Lofton Hotel, is a downtown Minneapolis, full-service, $15M revenue property that is the first hotel in the Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Minnesota. The Group Rooms Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that group inventory is accurately and efficiently maintained at all times for The Lofton Minneapolis Hotel and Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington. The position will be responsible for entering group blocks and rooming lists, setting up group billing and generating various reports. Daily communication with Revenue, Event Managers, Sales and Catering Managers will be an integral part of the position. This position will act as a liaison between client contacts and properties by attending the BEO, Revenue, and Sales meetings.

    What you will be doing:

    •  Process and oversee group guest needs, room setup, and coordination across properties.
    • Management of room’s inventory in regards to room blocks to insure maximization of revenue based on demand of non-group availability.
    •  Liaise daily with various departments and ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Handle group master accounts and optimize room inventory for revenue.
    • Provide timely and professional guest service, anticipate needs, and engage in sales.
    •  Promote multiple properties, cross-sell services, and explain loyalty programs.
    • Ensure accuracy in reservation processes and document special requests efficiently.
    • Inform guests of rate rules, input data accurately, and process payments.
    • Handle sensitive issues with employees and guests diplomatically and confidentially.
    • Utilize implemented sales techniques and strategies to determine the most appropriate accommodation to meet guest needs and requirements and to maximize room rates and revenues for multiple properties and brands.
    • Process payments for multiple reservation systems.

     

    What we are looking for:

    • At least 1 year of related or similar work experience
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Must demonstrate a great attitude and customer oriented personality
    • Previous experience in customer service
    • Must speak, read and write English fluently
    • Computer literate with an ability to learn and grasp new systems and software with ease
    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • Some college or secondary education preferred
