Job Summary: The Group Sales Assistant performs confidential clerical and administrative duties for the Group Sales & Travel Industry Department, requiring broad and comprehensive experience, skill and knowledge of organization policies and practices
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Answers telephone calls and processes requests and messages promptly.
• Build group blocks, add inventory and monitor group pickup.
• Maintains Cottage Inventory Availability, Blocks Cottage bookings and takes deposits.
• Reconciles Group Rooms Control Report, Actualizes Month In Rooms & Revenue.
• Coordinate reservations, room blocks, and contracts for large groups.
• Review reservations, identify potential problems, resolving any issues and errors.
• Assist guest with services and amenities offered by hotel.
• Attends Weekly Revenue, Forecast and Business Review Meetings
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
REQUIREMENTS Competencies, skills, attributes, experience, licenses, certifications, required)
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
• High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent, additional education preferred.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of spreadsheet programming preferred (30 wpm)
• Able to multi-task and adapt to changing situations
• Competent organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent time management skills
• Read, write and speak English fluently
PREFERRED competencies & qualifications
• Prefer prior Reservations or Front Office experience.
