Diagnostic Imaging Manager plans and implements the overall diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services for several departments which may include nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography and ultrasound. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Diagnostic Imaging Manager typically reports to a director. The Diagnostic Imaging Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Diagnostic Imaging Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of

Schedules and
coordinates patient procedures according to department protocols. Responsible
for maximizing reimbursement, ensuring pre-certification, authorization and
procuring appropriate medical necessity for all procedures.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years experience in a hospital or health care related field. Greater than two (2) years experience in a hospital or health care related field, preferably radiology is preferred.
