Position: Sonographer - Vascular

Reports To: Regional Clinical Leader

Summary: The Sonographer will function as a healthcare provider who, working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, serve as a medical imaging professional who provides clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Scans routinely performed:

• Carotid duplex
• Arterial exams including ABI, SDP and PVR
• Upper and lower venous for DVT
• Arterial grafts
• Dialysis fistulas

Primary Responsibilities/Duties (include but are not limited to):

• Calibrate, maintain, and control all ultrasound equipment
• Thoroughly explain the examination procedures to patients in a friendly, comforting manner
• Perform scanning test/functions according to ordering physician's requisition
• Notify physicians of any abnormalities or concerns immediately
• Execute protocols established by the Practice Manager and other physicians consistently

Billing Administration

• Gather and review all patient demographic information for completing the requisition form
• Obtain both physician and patient signatures prior to completion of examination

Administrative and Other Responsibilities

• Ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly paperwork is fully completed and sent into the Corporate Billing Office in a timely matter

Measurements of Performance:

• Attendance and punctuality record
• Quality of work performed consistently
• Compliance with Company policy and procedures
• Demonstrates sound ultrasound & patient practices when making decisions
