Diesel Mechanic performs inspection, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of diesel engines. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems. Being a Diesel Mechanic utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes. Replaces and/or refurbishes parts. Additionally, Diesel Mechanic maintains maintenance logs according to requirements. Ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. May perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive & Diesel Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Diesel Mechanic works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     DAY-TO-DAY

    As an Auto Technician - Automotive Mechanic, you complete light- to heavy-duty repairs at our comfortable shop. Your strong mechanical aptitude comes in handy as you troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix a wide range of issues. From transmission services to strut replacements, you always produce high-quality work that our customers can trust.

    Relying on your experience and knowledge, you treat each automobile with care as you follow work orders. You love working in a heated bay as you service cars in our well-lit shop. With safety as your top priority, you always double-check your work to make sure cars are ready to roll. Attentive to detail, you use computer terminals and a tablet to review orders and submit accurate documentation. You take pride in doing each job right, and you're pleased that you're well-compensated for your skills!
