Being a Diesel Mechanic utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes. Replaces and/or refurbishes parts. Additionally, Diesel Mechanic maintains maintenance logs according to requirements. Ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. May perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive & Diesel Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Diesel Mechanic works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. About the position:
Complete preventative maintenance inspections (PM’s).
Complete Repairs on defects found during a PM
Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repairs including but not limited to brakes, suspensions, engines, and transmissions.
Complete repairs on defects noted during daily vehicle inspections-pre-trip inspections (DVI’s)
Ensure work orders are completed accurately.

Qualifications for Fleet Maintenance Technician

Mechanic’s toolset
ASE certifications preferred. Must be willing to participate in company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided!
Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
