Being a Diesel Mechanic utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes. Replaces and/or refurbishes parts. Additionally, Diesel Mechanic maintains maintenance logs according to requirements. Ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. May perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive & Diesel Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Diesel Mechanic works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Holliday Rock has been in the constructions material business for eighty years and is one of the largest independent producers of aggregate, concrete and asphalt in the United States.
The Diesel Mechanic performs all engine and emission maintenance as well as repairs on all trucks and equipment and where necessary, can perform all drive train component work, as well as suspension and steering systems repairs and maintenance on heavy duty trucks. Experience with concrete mixer trucks is a plus.
