Diesel Mechanic jobs in Syracuse, NY
Diesel Mechanic performs inspection, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of diesel engines. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems. Being a Diesel Mechanic utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes. Replaces and/or refurbishes parts. Additionally, Diesel Mechanic maintains maintenance logs according to requirements. Ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. May perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive & Diesel Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Diesel Mechanic works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Hourly Rate: Up to $30.00 an hour- DOE
Tool Allowance, Boot Allowance, Monthly Profit Share & 401K match
We are currently looking to add a few more entry level and experienced mechanics to our team. New state of the art 10 bay facility, safe and clean environment, quarterly tool allowance, monthly profit share program, $150 boot allowance, $150.00 tool reimbursement (quarertly), 3 shifts available, optional overtime and no forced weekends!
Responsibilities:
- Work in a safe clean environment with a friendly team atmosphere

- Diagnose and repair heavy duty trucks and trailers
- Perform federal and state inspections
- Fabrication of steel and aluminum trailers
- Wet kit installation
- Perform preventative maintenance & inspections on power units and trailers
- Air brake component removal and installation
- Routine electrical repairs
- Tire removal and installation
- Suspension component replacement

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Must be able to maneuver 100lbs with tooling
- Ability to lift/move 50lbs independently
