**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a Clerk in the Barnwell County Tresurer's office. The ideal candidate should have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment for guests. Under the supervision of the Treasurer, the applicant will assist with accounting and bookkeeping tasks, receive and account for tax payments from customers, perform various clerical duties as necessary to maintain efficient and productive office operations. This position reports to the Treasurer.

**Responsibilities:**

- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner

- Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately

- Handle Cash, checks, bank cards

- Ensure the front desk area is clean and organized at all times

-perform various clerical duties

**Experience:**

-High School Diploma or GED

- Previous experience in money handling, front office operations, or customer service is preferred

- Familiarity with phone systems and proper phone etiquette

- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
