Diet Clerk serves meals to patients and assists in various processes related to the preparation and delivery of meals. Sets up trays and utensils according to patient requirements. Being a Diet Clerk assists with food preparation tasks. Completes general cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of work area. Additionally, Diet Clerk typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Diet Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. General Statement of Main Function:
The primary purpose is to provide our Residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with our established policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience in dietary service is preferred. Ability to read and understand recipe directions, diet orders, tallies and work assignments. This position will show a willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
Physical Demands:
* Physical and Sensory Requirements may be performed with or without the aid of mechanical devices.
Good motor coordination and manual dexterity are required for various work routines such as preparing food items, serving meals, handling soiled dishware, operating dietary equipment and cleaning work area. The Dietary Aide will be able and willing to work flexible hours such as during an emergency situation and must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members. This position requires the ability to lift and carry 25 to 30 pounds and stand exposure to temperature and humidity changes as in entering refrigerated storage areas, dish-washing machines and at steam-tables.
