Plans menus, inspects food to ensure portions adhere to set restrictions and dietary standards. Being a Dietitian - Home Care requires a bachelor's degree. Requires state license to practice. POSITION SUMMARY:
Part time – 16° team player dietician who will provide consultation concerning nutritional services to the Administrator of the facility and works in advisory capacity to the Food Service Director in accordance with current generally accepted professional practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Some of the responsibility’s requirements are:
· Provides consultation to the Administrator regarding planning, policy development and priority setting,
· Provides consultation to allied staff, consultants and physicians regarding diet, nutritional problems, and management, including patient visitation, nutritional assessment, patient nutritional care plans, and diet reviews.
· The consultant will make an initial dietary assessment and document it on the resident chart within 14 days of admission.
· The consultant will develop a nutritional care plan to assist nursing and other personnel in meeting the nutritional needs of the resident.
· Updates nutritional care plans on a timely basis.
· Will review diets and nutritional status on resident’s chart and make recommendation to the physicians for changes as necessary.
· Will write the dietary discharge plan including goals, needs and nutritional problems.
· Will visit each nurse’ station weekly and check with the charge nurse.
· Will work one on one with the Food Service Director
· Will write weekly summary of activities and observations concerning nutritional services with recommendations for change and improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor of Science degree in food nutrition or clinical dietetics.
· Must be a Registered Dietitian and a member, in good standing, of the American Dietetic Association.
Must have three to five years’ experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
