Dietitian reviews physicians diagnosis and designs and implements therapeutic nutritional care plans for patients utilizing general dietetic standards and regulations. Monitors and documents patient progress and consults with physicians as needed. Being a Dietitian educates and provides guidance to staff, patients, and families regarding diet and food plans. Administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Additionally, Dietitian requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). The Dietitian gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Position Summary

    The Dietitian approves menus including modified diets from Mayhill Hospital, provides nutritional assessments for patients as needed, and counsels patients and their families on dietary plans, food selections, preparation and nutritional principles. Monitors the performance improvement plans of the Dietary Services department and provides input in the development and implementation of patient care plans in relation to nutritional needs.

    Qualifications:

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

    Experience: Minimum of three (3) years dietary experience in a health care facility, with concentration in nutritional assessment and planning preferred.

    License: Registration with the American Dietetic Association preferred and State licensure required.
