Dietitian reviews physicians diagnosis and designs and implements therapeutic nutritional care plans for patients utilizing general dietetic standards and regulations. Monitors and documents patient progress and consults with physicians as needed. Being a Dietitian educates and provides guidance to staff, patients, and families regarding diet and food plans. Administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Additionally, Dietitian requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). The Dietitian gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     *Job Summary:


    As a *Registered Dietitian* at Benefis Health System, you will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and implementing nutrition interventions to support the health and well-being of our patients.

    Working collaboratively with healthcare teams, you will provide individualized nutrition counseling, develop specialized diet plans, and contribute to the overall enhancement of patient outcomes.


    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop personalized nutrition care plans for patients based on their medical condition, dietary needs, and preferences.
    • Provide evidence-based nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families on topics such as therapeutic diets, disease management, and lifestyle modifications.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize nutrition interventions.
    • Monitor and evaluate patients' nutritional status, dietary intake, and response to nutrition therapy, adjusting care plans as needed.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment goals.
    • Document nutrition assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
    • Stay abreast of current research, trends, and guidelines in clinical nutrition and incorporate best practices into patient care.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to dietetic interns, nutrition students, and other staff members as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field from an accredited institution.
    • Successful completion of a supervised dietetic internship program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
    • Current registration as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
    • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in the state of practice.
    • Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, therapeutic diets, and nutrition assessment techniques.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate and counsel patients from diverse backgrounds.
    • Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and nutrition software applications.
