JOB DESCRIPTION:

Dietitians and nutritionists perform nutritional assessments and comprehensive nutrition counseling on all admitted patients. Dietitians and nutritionists are experts in using food and nutrition to promote health and manage disease.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform comprehensive nutritional screening and assessment upon admission
• Evaluate and monitor nutrition-related changes for the continuum of care
• Participate in Interdisciplinary rounds to coordinate patient’s needs and care
• Provide recommendations for artificial nutrition support as needed
• Keeping informed about the latest discoveries in nutrition
• Provide in-services on nutrition-related topics for facility staff as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist credential is mandatory. New graduates are welcome to apply.
• Must be registered with New York State to obtain the CDN credential.
• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, health, or a related field.
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, public speaking, and listening skills.
• Willingness to continue training and research to keep current on the latest discoveries and developments in the field.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
