Dietitian, Sr. jobs in Springfield, OH

Full-time; 40 hours/week

Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field; completion of ADA approved dietetics internship

Experience: Sufficient previous experience in dietetics

License/Certifications: Licensure in State of Ohio; registration with ADA

• Reviews medical orders and plans modified diets. Coordinates diet adaptations with house menus. Charts diets in medical records.

• Performs nutritional assessments on assigned floors involving review of patient charts and diagnoses.

• Demonstrates consideration of special needs and behaviors of specific age groups served when planning and/or providing care.

• Documents all relevant aspects of nutritional care for patients in accordance with departmental standards.

• Educates patients on long-term nutritional care through individual discussions, group classes and community speaking engagements.

• Develops and implements work standards, sanitation procedures, and personal hygiene requirements to conform to regulatory requirements and food handling principles.

• Reviews, updates, and coordinates patient nutritional care and protocol implementation through ongoing communications and conference participation with nursing and other interdisciplinary staff.

• Serves as an educational resource to nursing and medical personnel. Attends health care team meetings regularly to discuss patient care needs.

• Maintains department records, reports, and files as required. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops; attends meetings as required.
