Dietitian Supervisor jobs in New Bedford, MA
Dietitian Supervisor supervises staff that plans, prepares, and delivers meals to patients. Consults and coordinates with nutritionists to ensure all menus comply with general dietetic standards and fulfill prescribed patients nutritional and therapeutic requirements. Being a Dietitian Supervisor oversees all food service operations. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Dietitian Supervisor typically reports to a manager. Requires Certified Dietary Manager(CDM). The Dietitian Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. - Provides therapeutic nutrition planning and related educational programs for individual patients and groups.
- Provide individual self-management goal counseling and care planning with clinical team.
- Teach chronic disease group classes, covering all topics for self-management of nutritional component of chronic disease self-management.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to problem solve, share information, and update re: patient’s progress.
- Assist with the selection of team and organizational program education materials.
- Assist in training staff in established nutritional care clinical guidelines.
- Act as a resource for nursing, medical staff and community for nutrition management, evidenced based care, and educational needs
Qualifications
Bachelors degree of science in dietetics, food and nutrition or a related field. Certification through American Dietetic Association required and current certification from the American Association of Diabetes Educators as a Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE). Three to five years’ experience.Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as teaching skills.
