Digital Collection Librarian maintains a library's digital collection of books, serials, documents, audiovisuals, or other materials, and assists groups and individuals in locating, obtaining and using materials. Trains others in the creation or preservation of digital resources and the use of the library's digital system(s). Being a Digital Collection Librarian is responsible for the library's open source projects and procures licenses for digital content. Interacts with IT staff in selecting/developing, implementing and maintaining the library's technical infrastructure. Additionally, Digital Collection Librarian requires a master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited school in a related field. Typically reports to a director. The Digital Collection Librarian manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Digital Collection Librarian typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Goal:

    This position will provide quality teaching and learning at the elementary and/or secondary level by providing intentional instruction at the classroom level.  The successful candidate will implement quality instruction in all subject areas by implementing professional development provided at the building and district level designed to improve student achievement.

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Valid Washington State Teacher certificate with Library Media preferred
    • Valid Washington State Teacher certificate with Elementary Education endorsement required
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Successful teaching experience at appropriate grade level preferred
    • Experience and/or training with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity preferred

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Prepare teaching materials and reports for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress

    • Provide clear and focused instruction for all students by using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students to assure successful learning through a defined course of study
    • Advise parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teacher’s expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment
    • Assess and monitor students for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals by using quality classroom-based assessments
    • Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions, and planning curriculum and willingness to work with grade level team
    • Direct instructional assistants, volunteers, and/or student aides for the purpose of providing an effective school program and addressing the needs of individual students and be supportive of parent volunteers in the classroom
    • Utilize district adopted curriculum to guide instruction
    • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment for learning
    • Direct instructional assistants, volunteers, and/or student aides for the propose of providing an effective school and library program while addressing the needs of individual students and be supportive of parent volunteers in the classroom
    • Perform data entry and word processing functions to maintain library database
    • Maintain library supplies, materials, and repairs as necessary Report incidents (child abuse, fights, substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment, adhering to education code and district and school policies
    • Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regular work hours
    • Professionally interact with students, staff, and public
    • Establish and maintain professional contacts with students
    • Comply with all district policies and procedures
    • Comply with the Code of Professional Conduct
    • Perform related duties as assigned
