Digital Collection Librarian maintains a library's digital collection of books, serials, documents, audiovisuals, or other materials, and assists groups and individuals in locating, obtaining and using materials. Trains others in the creation or preservation of digital resources and the use of the library's digital system(s). Being a Digital Collection Librarian is responsible for the library's open source projects and procures licenses for digital content. Interacts with IT staff in selecting/developing, implementing and maintaining the library's technical infrastructure. Additionally, Digital Collection Librarian requires a master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited school in a related field. Typically reports to a director. The Digital Collection Librarian manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Digital Collection Librarian typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of William Brown in 2010 with an unwavering focus on “To and Through College” at every grade level. Legacy’s model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness and mental health. Legacy Early College (“Legacy”) seeks an Elementary School Library Media Specialist. The Library Media Specialist serves as an instructional leader who advocates for and works towards access for all to information, media and literature in a variety of forms and for diverse purposes. As an instructional leader, the Library Media Specialist acts as an advocate and support for information access, a teacher, instructional consultant, and media manager to ensure that the library media operations and resources are a fully integrated part of the instructional program of the school and promote contemporary learners and learning.
