POSITION SUMMARY

As Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for maximizing cash flow and improving DSO. In order to be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a proven ability to work independently. The Collections Specialist will be expected to act as a liaison between our customers and the organization in a way that supports our mission to deliver an IT experience that clients love, making someone with a combination of collections and customer service experience an ideal candidate. We are looking for a motivated and reliable team player who can work efficiently and effectively, while maintaining accuracy, in a fast-paced environment. This position requires you to be on-site at our Melville office at least 4x/week and 1 day remote from home. The salary for this position is $55,000 (negotiable based on experience).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proven success meeting collection and DSO targets
• Maintain ownership of the AR Aging with respect to your assigned accounts
• Responsible for inbound and daily outbound collection calls and communications with clients
• Facilitate cross functional communication across the organization to resolve customer disputes
• Identify root causes and make recommendations for process improvements
• Negotiate payment plans, when necessary
• Prioritize proactive communications with customers to minimize losses associated with bad debt
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills when handling customer complaints and supporting issue resolution
• Notify management of any financial risk identified
• Make recommendations to put customers on credit hold
• Make recommendations for bad debt write offs
• Assist with cash flow forecasting
• Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and compliance standards

DESIRED SKILLSET/EXPERIENCE

• Associate's Degree preferred
• 5 years with cash apps and collections experience required
• Microsoft Office application experience required
• Intermediate to Proficient Excel skills required
• NetSuite experience a plus
• ConnectWise Manage experience a plus
• Stripe experience a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects concurrently
• Attention to detail
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive client and company information.
• Ability to work independently
