Summary/Objective: The Dining Room Supervisor ensures the Residents and their guests have a pleasant and memorable dining and food service experience. S(he) will supervise and train the Associates to meet and exceed the Company’s established policies and procedures, ensuring quality execution of food presentation and delivery.

Essential Functions: 1. Supervises the setup, maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of dining areas and food service

2. Assists the Director of Dining Services with scheduling for the dining room Associates

3. Anticipates Residents’ needs and ensures that service exceeds expectations to ensure a memorable and pleasant dining experience

4. Receives and greets Residents and guests; assists with seating

5. Supervises dining room Associates ensuring execution of uniform service standards

6. Ensures scheduled tasks are completed daily and that dining room supplies are stocked/ordered

7. Supervises and trains new Associates in service standards, individual Resident needs and Company expectations

8. Supervises the coffee bar and the Convenience Store, including scheduling, financial reconciliation, inventory, and service execution

9. Assists in coordinating and planning food service for special events in the Community

10. Ensures that meals are served in an attractive, appetizing manner

11. Establishes relationship with Residents and gathers information on food and service preferences, feedback, and requests

12. Makes recommendations to the Director of Dining Services regarding recipes, menus, production and service of food, equipment, etc. to enhance the quality of the dining experience

13. Develops and maintains a good working relationship, in a cooperative manner, with all Associates in the dining services department and other departments in the Community

14. Participates in programs for in-service education, on-the-job training, and orientation classes for newly assigned department personnel

15. Other duties as assigned by management Supervisory Skills Directly supervises service

Associates in the Community. Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training new Associates and leads current Associates with a focus on Residents and operational excellence.

Work Environment Works in a well-lighted area that is ventilated and is physically, physiologically and psychologically innocuous as possible under the conditions which exist at any particular time. May be exposed to temperature and air quality variances due to kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas. Certifications, Licenses, Education and Experience and other Special Requirements A High School Diploma or equivalency with a minimum of two years related experience, training or combined experience required; preferably one of those years in a responsible supervisory role; or equivalent combination of education and experience. S(he) must possess extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. The ability to address staff, residents and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner as well as the ability to understand the dining and nutritional needs of residents and ability to incorporate residents’ desires into the dining services operation is required. S(he) should possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be proficient with computer use and software applications.

Pay: $17.20 - $20.00 per hour
