Overview of Responsibilities
The Direct Mail Production Manager is responsible for coordinating and performing a variety of duties in the execution of direct mail projects, implementation of production schedules, internal and external quality control, supplier instructions, and vendor management for the manufacturing of various direct mail programs. The DM Production Manager position requires a person who is creative and very detail oriented. The manager must be excellent at analyzing direct mail results as well as be strong in overall operational analysis. Requires a self-driven person.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
· Development and execution of annual direct mail calendar and project schedules
· Analysis of direct mail packages and/or campaigns to make better list, creative, and segment selections for the future in coordination with list brokerage service and Senior Director
· Vendor management of all DM suppliers
· Working with SR Director, digital fundraising and DM suppliers and agencies to develop new packages.
· Management of accurate data entry with internal database
· Reporting of departmental and campaign performance
· Working with the Senior Director, responsible for departmental P&L including the creation of an annual departmental budget
· Research and monitor other nonprofit direct mail practices and packages for opportunities.
· Responsible for entering job specifications into Acumatica for vendor purchases.
· Codes and approves all DM invoices and postage requests and records on the SOP98-2 cost sheet.
· Clear understanding of SOP98-2 joint cost allocations
Experience/Position Requirements:
· Attention to detail.
· Analytical (able to set up tests and analyze results)
· Computer literate with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
· Understanding of accounting principles
· Knowledge of direct mail business
· Knowledge of data processing for selections of lists and segments
· Knowledge of production technologies for direct mail packages
· Strong communication and presentation skills
· The majority of responsibilities are done in an office environment.
· 5-10% travel
· Poses versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities and deadlines with enthusiasm to meet multiple deadlines.

Education Background Required
· College degree preferred in marketing/communications.
· Five years working in a direct mail environment.
· Five years of direct mail fundraising in an established non-profit organization preferred.
· 2 years of management/supervisory experience preferred.
· Strong copywriting skills
· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
