Direct Mail Specialist jobs in Grand Rapids, MI

Position Summary

Prepare incoming orders for remittance and processing by operating mail extraction and scanning equipment and performing manual and data verification of orders. Part time 20-24 hours per week.

Essential Functions

1. Open and scan all incoming mail
2. Provide accurate recording of information and contributions received
3. Perform manual donation verification and prepare cash monies for deposit
4. Verify check contributions and orders (account numbers, product and event codes, orders, etc.) through electronic images
5. Deliver deposits to the bank as needed
6. Provide basic troubleshooting and ensure general maintenance for the mail extraction and scanning equipment 

Additional Functions

Job Title: Inbound Mail Specialist—Level 2 

Study or Knowledge and Experience

• High school graduate plus additional training in machine operations
• Basic mathematical skills, emphasis on accuracy
• Good hand/eye coordination
• PC experience required, including Microsoft Windows and Excel
• Will be required to learn MAVRO and OPEX software
• Mechanical aptitude/dexterity/ basic machine maintenance
• Will require 3 months of on-the-job training before efficient

Internal Work Environment

• Communication is frequent with pre-processing, mail processing, and maintenance support staff
• Requires confidentiality of money deposits and sensitive customer information
• Work environment is fast paced

External Communication Requirements

• Occasional communication with PNC Bank
• Occasional communication with other outside vendors

Leadership Responsibility

• Produces a deposit report that is sent directly to the executive team 
• Work with teammates to ensure that mail flows smoothly through the various steps of pre-processing
