    Position Summary:
    The Self-Direct Specialist will play a crucial role in furthering our mission by managing the day-to-day operations of the Self-Direct Program. This program empowers individuals with disabilities to independently hire, train, and schedule their own caregivers. Program participants assume full control over employer decisions, with Ability Montana acting as the employer of record. Our role involves facilitating necessary paperwork and providing support to participants in their homes and communities.

    This is a full-time position with a hybrid work model, encompassing both remote and in-office work, totaling 40 hours per week; with reasonable workplace accommodations available if necessary. Occasional travel, approximately 25%, may be expected.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Program Coordination: Assist people with disabilities to self-direct their own care.
    • Person-Centered Counseling: Guide people to hire, train, and manage their own care attendants.
    • Consumer Home Visitation: Perform in-home visits to assess living conditions, needs, and the effectiveness of care plans and make any necessary changes.
    • Process Timesheets: Oversee the accuracy of timesheets to ensure timely reimbursement for provided services.
    • Community Outreach: Engage the community, raise awareness, and recruit eligible participants for the program.

    Qualifications:

    • Education and Experience: Degree in a business-related field, human services, social work, or equivalent. Any relevant work experience will also be considered.
    • Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with local resources and services, enabling effective guidance and support for participants navigating the system.
    • Driving Requirements: Proof of current auto liability insurance and possession of a valid Montana driver's license, if required for the role.
    • Accessibility Training: Successful completion of the "ADA Basic Building Blocks" web course or equivalent coursework, as approved by the supervisor. This training ensures a deep understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines to better serve individuals with disabilities.
