SUMMARY

The City of Chicopee’s Information Technology – Chicopee TV is hiring a Part Time Television Production Director who is responsible for part-time production of PEG television broadcasts, content, training, support, and operations for the City of Chicopee.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE

• Provide technical multimedia and television broadcast support services to residents, local government, and other entities in collaboration with Chicopee TV. Provide video programming of interest to the community.
• Responsible for developing, producing, and directing television programming to be used on the local Origination and Educational Access Channels of the Chicopee Cable Television System whenever the situation dictates (e.g., public meetings, sporting events, civic and cultural events).
• Manage live streaming content in parallel with live television broadcast. Maintain a social media presence for Chicopee TV as needed.
• Provides management of the cablecast system workflow and programming. Maintains and coordinates.
• Conduct classes and provide instruction consistent with the philosophy and goals of Chicopee TV and the City. Manage regular classes for residents of the city. Train community-based staff for local programming.
• Other duties as assigned per the full job description.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree is required.
• Intensive knowledge of the specialized field of television broadcasting, information technology and multimedia production.
• Two years professional experience working at either a commercial or educational television station. At least two years of successful experience in producing and directing television programming for either a commercial or a cable television station. Must know how to use electronic test equipment in the repair of equipment.
• Experience with Cable TV Distribution System, HD studio and HDTV mobile video production equipment which includes Cablecast Tightrope, Softmetal, Ross Switcher, Panasonic HD Cameras, Broadcastpix, Hitachi HD cameras, and Sony Robotic Cameras.
• Knowledge of video production, audio production and theatrical lighting systems. Working knowledge of non-linear editing system. Familiarity with Mac OS and Windows OS based video and audio editing applications.
• Familiarity with video production equipment. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical signal flow. Ability to coordinate the activities of both human and mechanical elements of a video production.

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a Part –*_ Time_*, 19 – hours/week position, with no set schedule.

This role is classified as a Chapter 7 Ordinance [Non – Union] position,*with pay of_ $25.00 per hour*_.
