JOB SUMMARY
ABC Investments &Management Co. is searching for a Director of Sales for our Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Columbia / Cayce SC. Hotel sales and marketing experience is required.
The Sales Manager will work to promote and sell guest rooms and meeting facilities by following sales guidelines the Management Company and Marriott Hotels. Must be able to follow policy and procedures ini order to build hotel occupancy and revenue. Primary focus is SMERF/Corporate sales and includes coordinating meeting room details, incoming inquires, pro-
active sales calls for new business, etc. The position will work in all aspects of the paperwork flow in the sales office. Position may include some travel to assist with Sales Blitz's and other promotional opportunities. Presents a high standard of integrity, service and hospitality at all times to promote the Company and Hotel culture to customers and co-workers.
Job Requirements
• Successful candidate MUST have a minimum of 1 year of hotel sales experience and 1 year of Sales Coordinator.
• Must have a keen eye for detail and possess a genuine desire to provide impeccable service to our various corporate and group clients.
• Must eb able to work additional hours outside of the traditional work schedule (evenings, weekends, and holidays) when/if business demands and be able to travel occasionally.
• Manages accounts to achieve total guest satisfaction for all events.
• Heavy client interaction, conducting regular site tours and attendance at on-site functions.
• Proactively respond to incoming leads and requests for proposals in a timely manner.
• Maintains account information in sales database.
• Completion of contracts in a timely manner.
• Attendance at various sales-related departmental meetings.
• Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/or meeting business, food & beverage sales, and catering/banquet sales.
• Coordinates food and beverage prices, meeting room rental and function space services.
• Supports the overall business and sales strategies of the company.
• Solid knowledge of sales techniques and business etiquette and practices.
• Ability to speak English and communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to relate to the public in a warm, friendly and professional manner.
Solid proficiency in data entry and computer skills, composition of letters and reports, keen attention to detail when composing, typing and reviewing materials, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
