Director of International Education jobs in Muskegon, MI

Director of International Education leads and directs all aspects of the institution's international programs. Oversees programs, activities, faculty affairs, and academic support services. Being a Director of International Education develops and implements strategies to attract and retain students and faculty. Oversees the operations of the study abroad and foreign exchange programs, the international admissions process, and English language programs. Additionally, Director of International Education ensures that the curriculum remains current and is in compliance with accreditation standards. Monitors the documentation and visa application processes. Oversees the departmental budget and management of expenditures throughout the year. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Director of International Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. I work for a non-profit that places exchange students, and we need to expand our team. I need a self-motivated, organized person, has excellent people skills, and is great with kids and deadlines.

    Job Description:

    • You will use all forms of social media, in-person contact or any novel ideas you have to recruit host families. This is key because it's how we are able to get exchange students here.
    • After finding a family, you would help match them with one of the kids in our online system.
    • You would assist the family through the application process and then oversee the student once they are here.
    • You would form a relationship with each student you oversee. Visit with them each month and check in with the host family as well.

    This position will offer you flexible work schedule, the opportunity to make a meaningful change and the travel incentives are great as well.

    This is a contract position and does not have a regular salary or hourly pay. Pay is basically based on placement and oversight of each student.
