    OUR BUSINESS:
American Para Professional Systems, Inc. (APPS) is the nation’s leading provider of mobile life/disability insurance exam services. With over 100 offices across the country, we have an impeccable reputation for completing high-quality work in a professional manner.

    HOW WE WORK:
When an individual decides to purchase a life and/or a disability insurance policy, one of the most common requirements is medical screening. This medical screening must be performed by an independent contractor who is in no way associated with the insurance company. APPS works in conjunction with the insurance company to get this exam completed.

    THE HEALTH SCREENING:
As an Independent Contractor/Examiner with APPS, you will be completing these health screenings. This can be done in the client’s home, their work, the agent’s office, or the APPS office, whichever is most convenient for your client. Some of the health screenings require a short medical history questionnaire/interview. This is similar to the medical questions you might answer when going for your annual physical. The medical questionnaire may include questions about the client’s medical history, present or previous illnesses, injuries, and surgeries as well as any medications they may be taking. You will need to document the dates for their medical history along with the treating provider with their address and phone number.
You will also be required to obtain the client’s physical measurements which include their height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and hip/waist measurement. A blood and urine specimen is usually collected and from time to time a saliva sample will be required. The venipuncture is done with a vacutainer and 2 tubes are collected. It is imperative that your phlebotomy skills be up to par!

From time to time, you may be asked to perform an EKG on your client. You will take a portable machine with you to the exam to obtain the EKG reading. We are happy to train you to do EKG's if this is not already a skill you possess.

Once you have completed the exam, you will prepare the samples for shipping and send us the paperwork. The health screening usually takes anywhere from 15 – 45 minutes depending on the requirements.

    EXAMINER REQUIREMENTS::
As an APPS Examiner, you will be required to:
    • Pass a background check.
    • Provider your own cell phone.
    • Provide your own tablet with internet access (we may be able to provide you one if necessary).
    • Hold a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation & proof of auto insurance coverage.

    • Perform an EKG (we can train you for this).
    • Draw blood - Top-notch phlebotomy skills are mandatory.
    • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
    • Work independently and responsibly. This is of utmost importance.

    WORK SCHEDULE:
As an independent contractor, you can set your own schedule!

    COMPENSATION:
Your reimbursement check greatly depends on your willingness to work and the number of exams you complete! Reimbursements periods range from the 1st through the 15th and the 16th though the last day of the month. Reimbursement checks will be mailed accordingly.
