As a Direct Support Professional, you will play an important role in providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Only hiring for our Residential program for evening and night shifts (4pm-12am and/or 12am-8am).
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, in a residential setting
- Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication as prescribed by a nurse or physician
- Drive individuals to appointments and community activities
- Prepare meals and assist with mealtime routines
- Perform heavy lifting and transferring of individuals as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents
- Ensure that resident rights are respected and upheld at all times
- Implement behavior plans and provide social work services as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in social work or related field preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and transferring of individuals as needed
- Ability to administer medication as prescribed by a nurse or physician
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record required
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
