About the Carpenter Position: Responsible for working with wood to build and repair structures and other items and they also may have to select and source appropriate materials depending on project needs. Tasked with successfully delivering repair services for clients and referral partners as well as work diligently to meet and exceed customer expectations, develop and grow referral relationships and steward the company brand.
Essential Functions:
● Provides repair services as outlined by scope documentation or work orders
● Installs wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work
● Designs and installs cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation
● Adds fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures
● Selects lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style
● Liaises with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals
● Reads blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations
● Takes measurements and calculates the size and amount of material needed; cuts, shapes and smooths lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
● Builds window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
● Lays out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
● Carves and assembles furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
● Inspects places and conducts repairs or maintenance
● Builds scaffolding and other construction structures
● Picks up materials and deliver to jobs sites as required
● Sets containments, floor protection and dust control systems
● Maintains company provided power tools and equipment
● Communicates client concerns/questions to Project Manager
● Takes photos of the day’s activities and uploading to CRM
● Conducts controlled demolition services as needed
● Manages, packs and moves client’s contents / personal property
