Disaster Recovery Administrator implements and supports the policies, procedures, and programs that ensure the recovery, security, and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology in the event of a disruption or unanticipated disaster. Performs risk management analysis and documents disaster recovery plans. Being an Disaster Recovery Administrator identifies and secures the necessary off-site resources required for the organization's resumption plan. Develops and executes testing processes to validate the disaster recovery plans and identify the plans' weaknesses and failure points. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Administrator confirms all action plans are documented, communicated, and understood by all stakeholders in the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Disaster Recovery Administrator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     We are hiring a Health Information Administrator for our growing team!  The Health Information Administrator will primarily be responsible for: 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Process requests for continuity of care
    • Facilitate the transfer of medical records for clients transitioning between healthcare providers and/or facilities
    • Process requests for continuity of care, ensuring the timely and accurate transfer of relevant medical information to support ongoing treatment and care coordination.
    • Maintain medical records
    • Organize and maintain medical records in accordance with established procedures
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness and confidentiality of medical records
    • Assist in updating relevant information including demographic data.
    • Respond to payor requests
    • Support the processing of requests from insurance companies, government agencies and other payors.
    • Retrieve and review medical records to fulfill requests for claim processing, utilization review, audits and other purposes.
    • Ensure timely and accurate response to payor inquiries for medical documentation.
    • Support billing submission
    • Assist with the preparation and submission of medical claims for reimbursement
    • Review records to verify accuracy and completeness
    • Collaborate with billing specialists as appropriate
    • Support appeals processes
    • Assist in the preparation of appeals for denied claims or reimbursement disputes.
    • Compile and organize medical records and other supporting documentation for appeal submissions.
    • Coordinate with providers, insurance representatives and other stakeholders to gather additional information and documentation.
    • Notary responsibilities
    • Serve as notary public for the department, witnessing and certifying documents.
    • Quality Assurance
    • Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
    • Identify and address discrepancies, errors or missing information in medical records.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and integrity of documentation.
    • Document Management
    • Scan, index and upload documentation into electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
    • Ensure proper indexing and filing to facilitate efficient retrieval and retrieval.
    • Maintain logs and records of medical records requests, releases and disclosures.
    • Process court orders and subpoenas relevant to medical records
    • Review and process court orders and subpoenas for medical records
    • Coordinate with legal counsel and other appropriate parties to respond in a timely manner.
    • Training and compliance
    • Stay up to date with regulations, guidelines and industry standards related to medical record management
    • Provide support to staff on medical records practices, HIPAA compliance and other relevant topics. 

    Key Experience and Education Needed:

    • Minimum of Associate Degree
    • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), and/or associate degree in Health Information Management preferred
    • Previous experience in medical record management or related field preferred
    • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, continuity of care processes and compliance requirements.
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
