    Disaster Recovery Analyst

    Working within the IT organization and reporting to the Business Resiliency Manager, the Disaster Recovery Analyst is responsible to assist in the implementation and maintenance of the firm’s disaster recovery program across the firm functions. Business Resiliency at StoneX is comprised of both Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery programs. This position will focus on the disaster recovery program.

     

    The Disaster Recovery Analyst will create impact in the following ways:

    Ensures efficiency and reliability are built into all business resiliency management activities. Functional elements of this position include ownership of the business resiliency platform and strategic documentation; development of business disruption response strategies; leadership in significant events response; oversight of plan maintenance and testing processes; execution of training and awareness activities; and interaction with various parties, both internal and external. This position also champions business resiliency throughout the organization and serves as key point of contact during significant events.

    Responsibilities

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the development and execution of the organization’s business resiliency management strategy in alignment with best practices and other standards, specifically related to disaster recovery.
    • Serve as contributor to the business resiliency management-related materials including business resiliency policies and standards and the organization’s enterprise business resiliency management system and plan.
    • Perform maintenance and testing functions for the enterprise business resiliency systems.
    • Support business units in the identification of critical processes and functions, formulation of responses to business disruptions, completion of ITDR Analysis updates, and performance of ongoing ITDR Plan maintenance and testing activities.
    • Perform periodic reviews of plan structure/format and update as needed to ensure alignment to changes in the business and threat environment.
    • Incorporate new business units, systems, and processes into the business resiliency program.
    • Perform proactive assessments of organization-wide and department-level strategies and processes to optimize efficiency and reliability in business resiliency management practices.
    • Provide periodic reports on overall program status and effectiveness.
    • Assist and guide business resiliency manager within the business units.
    • Assist with the development and implementation of an integrated testing strategy that incorporates people, processes, and technology; and support business units in the performance of annual testing exercises and other processes designed to ensure the sustainability of business resiliency management practices.
    • Assist with design and execution of the organization’s business resiliency management awareness and training program.
    • Support IT Department disaster recovery planning and testing activities through: - supporting business units in the identification of data storage requirements, system recovery requirements, data recovery requirements, and alternative processing site requirements. Participates in annual disaster recovery tests to help ensure that business unit needs are met.
    • Provide support during organizational responses to business disruption events.
    • Generate the performance of business disruption after-action reviews and the documentation of results. Analyze impact to determine if changes to current business resiliency plans and/or processes are required.
    • Log business disruption events and tests and report results to management.
    • Support audit and regulatory review activities and prepare responses to audit and exam findings related to business resiliency. Track and drive the resolution of all corrective action activity.
    • Review business resiliency-related vendor relationships.
    • Maintain awareness of current legislation, regulatory compliance requirements and conditions affecting the organization’s business resiliency-related responsibilities.
    • Maintain appropriate certifications throughout employment.
    • Perform other business resiliency and risk management duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Three years to 5 years of experience in disaster recovery planning or operations for a mid-sized organization.
    •  
    • Experience with a business resiliency management program at the organizational level specifically for disaster recovery.
    • Project management knowledge or experience a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff/management and third parties.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
    • Ability to bridge the gap between technical resources, and front office staff during both planning and real-world incident handling.
    • Strong understanding of networking, data/database, storage, desktop, applications, telephony concepts, security, and how each correlate and interact with each other.
    • Ability to manage stress under fast changing conditions
    • Strong communication skills

     

    Preferred

    • Certified Disaster Recovery Planner (CBCP, CCCE, DRCP or MBCP) or similar accreditation preferred but not required.
    • Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
    • Working knowledge/expertise with Fusion Risk Management.
    • Financial Services experience preferred.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills.
