The PACS Administrator designs, builds, tests, validates and provides application management, end user training, support and system testing to Radiology / Cardiology PACS and EKG. He/She provides equipment support to radiation dictation software; EKG transmission; Vascular reporting; Laparoscopic Imaging; Sleep Study; EEG systems; remote radiology reading; Heartburn software; and assigned portions of the EHR and other systems as assigned.
The PACS Administrator maintains an in-depth knowledge of the software functionality and clinical workflows. He/She works closely with the Clinical Application teams, Information Systems and Clinical department directors to ensure proper operation of all assigned systems as expected.
Associate’s degree in a clinical discipline or computer science field required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.

Experience
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in radiology or cardiology operations and/or health care project management required. Strong information technology background with an emphasis in system administration and networking required.
Work is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects. Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, copier, and 10-key.
Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires close visual acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision.
Must be able to be active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue. Must be able to work flexible hours.
Mental Demands
Must have a general knowledge of hospital workflow and operations. Must possess keen mental faculties in the management of information and clinical situations. Communication / speaking / enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels associated with ongoing and changing needs of clinical areas as related to computer use and demands of maintaining effective working relationships with peers, physicians and other healthcare workers.
Special Demands
Out of state travel for education purposes required. Must have a valid driver license as job may require traveling throughout the SRHS service area - with the employee providing his/her own transportation.
Must have an understanding of desktop operating systems software and Web browser use (Internet Explorer). Must be familiar with specific PACS and radiology information systems applications.
