Disaster Recovery Director leads the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Being a Disaster Recovery Director leads periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans. Develops and implements organization-wide training and communications. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Director supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar BCP certification. Typically reports to top management. The Disaster Recovery Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Disaster Recovery Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     • Work with the Recovery Group efforts by building relationships with stakeholders and clients to support long-term success in Recovery.
    • Maintain a clear understanding of policy developments relevant to the division to ensure all project goals are met.
    • Participate in the development, review, and management of the strategy, budget, and business development for the group.
    • Manage applicable contracts.
    • Serve as a project manager or assigned role to support any client and company needs or activations.
    • Develop strategic direction for Recovery Group staff, programs, and project management.
    • Oversee the supervision of staff and provides direct supervision including conducting performance evaluations, training, hiring, and discipline and termination procedures.
    • Assist the Resiliency and Disaster Recovery team with direct client deliverables as needed.
    • Provide specialized and technical guidance regarding processes, programs, functions, and initiatives.
    • Deliver presentations to clients and participates in client meetings, when needed.
    • Participate in deployment teams to assist clients in emergency situations.
    • Provide oversight to ensure smooth operation from planning to implementation under tight deadlines.
    • Provide project status updates and situational awareness, internally and externally.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Bachelor's degree in emergency management or related field.
    • 8 years of related experience in Resiliency and Disaster Recovery.
    • At least 2 years of experience in a management role.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Strong supervisory and negotiation skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of the principles, practices, problems, and techniques of organizing, planning, and coordinating disaster recovery related projects.
    • Ability to prepare and deliver visually appealing written reports, public presentations, and recommendations.
    • Proven track record of meeting goals and driving business results through team leadership.
    • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a managerial capacity that directly related to this position.
    • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
    • Business Development experience preferred.
