Disaster Recovery Director leads the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Being a Disaster Recovery Director leads periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans. Develops and implements organization-wide training and communications. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Director supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar BCP certification. Typically reports to top management. The Disaster Recovery Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Disaster Recovery Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Longleaf was created in 2022 to bring additional outpatient addiction and mental health treatment options to Alabama. Our accessible and comprehensive offerings give clients tailored options that create a clear path forward to recovery and wellness.

    Longleaf will be expanding the Birmingham Recovery Center location on a connected site with the construction of Longleaf Wellness Center. The new facility will be a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program, focusing on primary mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. In addition, Longleaf has secured a site to expand its substance use disorder and mental health treatment model to Madison, Alabama with Longleaf Recovery Center – Madison. Plans for further expansion to other areas of the state, such as Baldwin County, are underway.

    Position Title: Program Director

    Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

    Position Summary: The Program Director will oversee the successful operation of the Company’s flagship programs: Brimingham Recovery Center (Primary substance use disorder) and Longleaf Wellness-Birmingham (Primary mental health disorder). These programs constitute over 100 operating hours each week with approximately 180 clients in the PHP, IOP, and OP levels of care. Program Director works in conjunction with Clinical Director to ensure successful implementation of program elements. The primary goals of the Program Director role are to:

    1. Support the treatment program's goal to maintain exceptional standard of care and integrity.

    2. Promote use of best practices, staff competency, and quality of care provided.

    3. Ensure all operational aspects support effective service delivery.

    4. Consistently implement Company culture, philosophy, and brand strategy at program level.

    Essential Duties & Functions

    • Ensures facilities and related elements are prepared to deliver clinical services.
    • Confers regularly with staff to identify operational improvements and resolve operational deficiencies.
    • Maintain adherence to budget set for program expenditures.
    • Manage and improve program’s EMR functionality (Kipu) and ensure proper data collection.
    • Works at the direction of Quality Improvement to ensure compliance with related federal, state and local regulations, Joint Commission standards, third-party payor requirements, as well as company policies and procedures.
    • Participates in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new staff.
    • Meets with prospective clients and/or family members and serves as primary point of contact for resolution of client issues/complaints; Facilitates Family Support Groups.
    • Review weekly billing reports to ensure accuracy of services delivered and completion to support documentation.
    • Scheduling of non-clinical and support staff.
    • Assists the Clinical Director with policy improvement, program development, staff training, and evaluation activities.

    Education/ Experience

    • Master's degree in related human services field or equivalent work experience.
    • The equivalent of five years of experience operating behavioral health/substance user disorder programs (Preferred).
    • Previous experience involving supervisory responsibility is desirable.

    Skills/ Competencies

    • Knowledge and experience with applicable clinical standards and licensure requirements.
    • Understands the principles and practices of direct client service delivery.
    • Working knowledge of contemporary and emerging SUD treatment modalities (e.g. trauma-informed, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy)
    • Ability to provide competent and compassionate treatment services with a customer service orientation.
    • Experience operating sophisticated electronic medical records (EMR) platform
    • General knowledge of the requirements for third-part reimbursement practices
    • Operates from a servant leadership perspective
    • Strong clinical documentation skills
    • Effective verbal & non-verbal communication.
    • Knowledgeable about federal and state rules and regulations for the treatment of individuals with substance use disorder(s).
    • Ability to interpret, explain and apply regulations, policies and procedures.
    • Experience leading and developing clinical practice within a client-focused framework
    • Demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with multi-disciplinary staff balancing the needs of individuals with one’s own clinical and professional responsibilities.
    • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills, including active listening, to influence others, build constructive relationships and achieve outcomes.
    • Demonstrates critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
    • Can analyze complex issues, propose solutions, and implement decisions in conjunction with the executive staff.

    Abilities:

    Language Ability: Read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, agencies, or members of the business community. Write speeches and articles for publication.

    Mathematical Ability: Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Requirements:

    • CPR/first aid certified.
    • Criminal background check.
    • Pre-employment drug screening
    • Verification of previous employment via professional references.
    • Valid driver’s license; Independent, reliable transportation
    • Completion of continued education and trainings for maintained licensure.
