Disaster Recovery Manager manages the design, implementation, and communication of business continuance and disaster recovery plans and processes that ensure the security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology. Conducts risk analysis to identify critical operations and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption. Being an Disaster Recovery Manager monitors and tests the plans and back up systems. Manages the contracts with required vendors for off-site and other resources required for business continuation and recovery. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Manager develops and deploys training, documentation, and communication of disaster procedures to the organization. Develops service level recovery standards and agreements with vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Disaster Recovery Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Disaster Recovery Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Manages, organizes, and leads a team across a broad set of disciplines (including but not limited to: network security, the  security and endpoint security). Directs the deployment of technical security services and solutions. Plans, organizes, designs, and implements planning and designing technical security solutions to minimize risk exposure to the health the health system. Manages the development and oversight of the disaster recovery program including development of strategy, roadmaps, policies and standards.

    Job Responsibility

     

    • Provides leadership to Information Security team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
    • Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system. Evaluates, plans, and delivers new technical security solutions which reduce risk for the organization; periodically evaluates existing security technologies to ensure optimal effectiveness.
    • Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
    • Recommends, implements, and adheres to approved operating goals, objectives and budget; reports operational performance, justification and/or corrective action.
    • Manages, estimates the level of effort, prioritizes tasks and reports status for security technology implementations and the health system upgrades; engages with stakeholders to ensure that business needs are understood and achieved.
    • Manages the development and oversight disaster recovery program, including development of disaster recover strategies, guidelines, standard, deployment plans and recovery exercises.
    • Collaborates and coordinates with business units, external business partners and key IT staff to plan, direct, control and maintain effective disaster recovery plans.
    • Provides technical guidance and oversight of all security technology related issues enterprise wide; proactively identifies and resolves issues to meet strategic, and technical goals.
    • Manages and implements staffing requirements; selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports; oversees the selection, development, management, and evaluation of indirect reports.

    Job Qualification

     

    • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
    • 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.

     

    Preferences:

    • Security , CEH, and Zerto Certifications is a plus
    • Familiarity with information security & disaster recovery tools
    • High attention to details
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Strong organizational skills
