Discharge Coordinator directs daily operation of record processing to ensure that discharge records are properly received, organized, and forwarded to the appropriate physician for completion. Audits medical records to guarantee compliance with institution standards, procedures and policies. Being a Discharge Coordinator may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Discharge Coordinator typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Summary:
Directs and coordinates high quality education programs for students receiving KRESA services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Kalamazoo RESA handbook.
Education and/or Experience:
Prefer Master’s degree (M.A.) in Ed Leadership or equivalent related combination of experience and education.
Certificates, License, Registration:
Eligible for temporary approval as a Special Education Supervisor.

Directly supervises employees assigned; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending the hiring and training of employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
