The Discharge Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to direct and deliver comprehensive nursing discharge instructions to patients in discharge suite in a safe and proficient manner according to individual patient needs. Is responsible for preparing discharge documentation, educating patient on discharge instructions, mitigating some discharge barriers for patients discharging home, and answering any discharge questions from patient or family members. This position will assist in the coordination of post-hospital needs of all patients going home in order to promote quality, continuity of care and safety for the patient. The Discharge RN will meet the needs of the patient, to facilitate timely, and appropriate discharges from the hospital. The Discharge RN will assist in patient advocacy. The Discharge RN could provide direct patient care based upon HCA and HCA Florida Memorial Hospital Standards of Care and Standards of Practice, Polices, Procedures and Practice Guidelines. Provides guidance and supervision to Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Nursing Technicians, Nursing Assistants and Unit Secretaries.
What qualifications you may need:
This is a Full Time, Day Shift position. Shift are 4 per week - approximately 10 hours in length (EX: 0800 to 1800).
Sporadic Weekends are required.
