Discount Brokerage Department Manager manages and leads a group of discount brokers responsible for the purchase and sale of securities for clients at discounted commissions. Develops marketing programs and strategies to increase profitability and enter new markets. Being a Discount Brokerage Department Manager monitors transactions for accuracy and ensures satisfactory customer service. May interact with the organization's full-service brokers as needed. Additionally, Discount Brokerage Department Manager ensures compliance with any applicable regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Requires NASD Series 7 license. Typically reports to a director. The Discount Brokerage Department Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.     Leverage reports, dashboards, tabular models and analytical insights to drive business success. Apply customer and competitor insights to create business plans, explore new business opportunities, facilitate introduction of product features, and devise initiatives to grow users and engagement. Collaborate with cross functional teams to determine potential sales of Microsoft’s products or services. Develop the end-to-end user experience, product roadmap, and monitor the complete product lifecycle, which may include product definition and planning through development, release, modifications, upgrades, maintenance, and product retirement. Prioritize customer and product success criteria. Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Serve as "the voice of the customer" and engage in technical product management activities that facilitate customer use and drive long-term value creation. Telecommuting permitted less than 50%/week within same geographic location as assigned Microsoft office location.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, IT, Technology Management, or a related field. Employer will accept a 3-year or 4-year bachelor’s degree. • Experience: 60 months of software-related, centralized and coordinated program, product, or project management experience and/or experience in designing, developing and releasing software products or services.• Specific Skills: Experience must include 24 months of experience in each of the following: Coordinating program development of computer software applications/systems/services from design through product release; Content Management; Reporting; Business Process Improvement; UX Research; and SQL Server.

     

    Any suitable combination of education, experience, or training is acceptable.

    Pay Range and Benefits Information

    The offered base pay range for this specific position (V2373907), in Redmond, WA, is $170,887 to $200,887 per year.

     

    Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. 

     

    At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role. Benefits/perks listed may vary depending on the nature of employment with Microsoft and the country work location. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 10 scheduled paid holidays, and up to 80 hours Holistic Health Time Off. Additionally, hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid vacation time, and salaried/exempt employees have Discretionary Time Off (DTO).
