Dispatcher coordinates drivers and vehicles to convey freight or passengers to assigned destinations in a timely and efficient manner. Maintains contact with drivers to communicate updates, delays, or special instructions and relay delivery status to customers. Being a Dispatcher records driver assignments, delivery time, and other transportation data in a computer database to track metrics. Ensures drivers are compliant with all DOT, state, local, and company regulations. Additionally, Dispatcher requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Dispatcher works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Dispatcher typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. You will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching our technicians to the jobs assigned to ensure timely and efficient services for our customers. You will make dispatch decisions related to scheduling, delegating HVAC or plumbing service, repair, and sales calls to the field staff. Other duties include but are not limited to:
- Communicate with customers and technicians regarding service time frame, appointment availability, delays, or special instructions
- Working closely with the customer service team members and field staff
- Track field technician work location, equipment, and work status
- Monitor scheduled service appointments and help anticipate dispatching decisions throughout the workday
- Relay accurate information to customers and technicians, ensuring proficient, and quality experiences
- Make sound, efficient, and profitable decisions to direct field staff throughout the service areas based on urgency, logistics, technician skill sets and specialized equipment
- May work overtime as needed
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned by the needs of the business
Qualifications and Skills:- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience as a Dispatcher, or Call Center Rep
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Ability to work in a fast paced and results driven environment
- Ability to meet all Company safety requirements
