Purpose:

This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled functions in support of the Dispatch Center; receives and dispatches emergency and non-emergency calls from students and staff of the University for police, fire, and ambulance personnel, equipment and services.

Essential Job Functions:

Provides emergency and non-emergency radio communication; observe for signs of crime or disorder as seen on cameras; take accurate notes of unusual occurrences. Record and monitor Officer activities as each call coming into the department. Communicate with students, faculty, staff, and community in need of assistance; ability to do multiple tasks at the same time.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform over-the-phone first aid or CPR, maintain a professional, courteous, and polite demeanor and perform any additional duties assigned by Lincoln University Police Department and Staff. Be familiar with and carry out emergency evacuation procedures.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics

1. Able to pass state background check (required)
2. Strong working knowledge of security operations, and safety practices (preferred)
3. Excellent surveillance and observation skills (preferred).
4. Excellent communication skills (desired)
5. Strong typing skills.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

• High school diploma/GED or Equivalent (HiSet)

Physical Demands:

• Long periods of sitting
