Develops and implements vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance programs. Develops and maintains outside vendor and service provider relationships.
Monitor and ensure fleet operation in compliance with local and state rules and regulations. Work closely with manager, drivers and operations personnel and provide exceptional customer service.
Assign / dispatch drivers on loads and transmit load information to the drivers utilizing the dispatch software. Monitor dispatch software for status changes from the drivers and maintain check calls from the drivers.
Communicate any load or carrier problems, and other information such as leads and inquiries to the Operations Team. Communicates in a clear and consistent manner and with high integrity both internally and externally.
Dispatch, monitor and report on drivers completing routes and pick-ups. You will be working closely with drivers and carriers.
Manages drivers during extended coverage shifts including overnight, weekends and holidays. Be liaison between drivers and maintenance team when having issues on the road, helping with problem solving and deciding course of action for the truck.
Escalates and / or resolves problems per guidelines. Works with team members to solve problems. Provide clear work instructions to drivers.
