Distance Learning and Education Director manages administrative functions of the distance learning program. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Distance Learning and Education Director leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Distance Learning and Education Director requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Distance Learning and Education Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Coordinates the delivery of Catapult services within the territory. Services will include Intervention, Professional Development, Mental Wellness, and/or Family Engagement services. This position is full-time, reporting to and working with the Regional Director.

    • Act as a liaison between educators in your territory and their school’s administration and staff.
    • Communicate with District personnel (all funding sources to include Title I, Title II, Title IVA, IDEA)
    • Hire, train, and oversee the performance of teachers; supervise via informal and formal lesson observations.
    • Provide instructional coaching to teachers in the development of class schedules and strategies to meet the needs of all participating students.
    • Provide guidance to teachers with record-keeping procedures and ensure that required plans and reports are maintained and updated properly.
    • Provide Professional Development opportunities and guidance for teachers.
    • Work closely with the instructional team and Regional Director to ensure the implementation of quality programming.
    • Assist with testing students.
    • Assure customer satisfaction, program quality assurance, and student achievement, as well as safety and professional appearance of optimal learning environment of the classroom.
    • Establish a positive professional rapport with school staff, principals, and the school district; communicate issues concerning program implementation.
    • Maintain instructional materials and supplies for programs.
    • Submit monthly reports and other documents as necessary.
    • Attend vendor meetings as scheduled (remote and in-person).
    • Attend district scheduled principal meetings to present program offerings (remote and in-person).
    • Submit request forms and supporting documentation required by state and federal guidelines before and after scheduled services.
    • Communicate with Catapult Learning schools that receive Title funding.
    • Conduct remote and in-person outreach to school principals/liaisons to encourage use of funding for PD.
    • Assist principals/liaisons with the selection of PD topics to meet school needs.
    • Complete PD request forms for submittal to the district.
    • Recruit, hire and train new PD Specialists.
    • Implement Professional Development Process (remotely and/or in-person).
    • Complete the PD process from receiving the school PD request to delivery of workshops/coaching and invoicing the district.
    • Match presenter with school/requested topic and provide materials.
    • Collect supporting documentation to submit to the district.
    • Collaborate with the Field Leadership Team, Director of PD (Florida), Regional PD Supervisors (North Florida and North Carolina), and Regional Director.
    • Travel extensively throughout the state of South Carolina (85%) with support provided as needed in NC and throughout the North Florida/Carolina territory.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher
    • Valid and current SC Teaching Certificate
    • A minimum of two years of related supervisory experience in education
    • A flexible schedule, the ability to handle numerous priorities concurrently, and problem-solving skills
    • Willingness and ability to travel between multiple school sites throughout the region
    • South Carolina residence and reliable transportation
    • Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication
